My name is Alexandra but please call me Alex.

I can’t pinpoint the exact moment I got into photography, I started really early to document all sorts of things.
First with a digital camera.

And then one day, I got into analog.
That was in 2015.

Since then I’ve fallen in love with analog. The process makes so much more sense to me than digital: I have a tendency to excess and come back from a trip with too many photos and too little time and energy to sort and edit them.

Analog slows me down
I have 36 shots to express what I want, I choose carefully what I think is worth using an exposure for or not. I do that same sorting process but beforehand, before taking the shot and I find it more meaningful.

Analog helps me stay in the moment
Because you can’t see what you’ve captured right away, you stay connected to your subject, whether it is a person, a landscape or even a moment. I like that idea. I don’t lose myself in my screen.

Finally, I love working and experimenting with rolls
They’re an artistic choice by themselves and there is a few ones only that I’ve used more than once.
I don’t like editing my pictures, though I find myself experimenting with the art of editing more and more. The colorimetry was chosen the moment I put the roll in the camera and I don’t really see the point in altering anything from the result. I might change my mind one day, but to that day everything you’ve seen here was not edited.
